AVISTA OIL's interns write about their project 2017: Tombola
In 2017, the Christmas tombola took place on 18th December 2017. As was the case the previous year, the staff had the opportunity to participate in the tombola and, for a small donation, had a chance of winning the prizes which had been provided. The reason for the tombola is that employees should also have the opportunity to obtain promotional gifts, as frequently only employees with direct customer contact receive Christmas gifts.
From 4th December 2017, the one-year trainees were occupied with the project Christmas tombola and a senior citizen reception. Who are these trainees? We are Marivic Bartels (16), Madeleine Surburg (16) and Jasmina Meyer (17). Following joint planning with the Marketing / Public Relations Team, the Services division and the works fire brigade, we immediately began with the procurement of catering, decoration, lottery numbers and the corresponding prizes or blank draws. In addition, we booked the fire brigade hall, where the event took place.
The day came on 18th December 2017, and at 07:00 a.m. we arrived on the premises in order to conduct the first preparations. After the tables and chairs had been set up, the tombola prizes were sorted and the catering set up. Around 11:30 a.m., the first former employees (senior citizens) arrived. After everyone had enjoyed the Christmas treats and bratwurst sausages from the barbeque, a brief tour around the premises was conducted. At 1:00 p.m., the first employees arrived and the sale of the lottery tickets began. After all the prizes had been distributed, we handed over the proceeds of the lottery tickets to the horse animal sanctuary “Die Arche”. At 3:00 p.m., we began tidying up, and by 4:00 p.m. it was time for everyone to go home. A long and successful day had come to a close. Over the following days, we received a lot of positive feedback from the employees. Despite the complex preparation and large amount of work, this was a great project which provided us with a lot of fun during its implementation.
